Community Partnerships

Welcome to the Community Partnership page of the Edo State Flood, Erosion, and Watershed Management Agency (EDOFEWMA). Here, you will learn about our collaborative efforts with communities, NGOs, government agencies, and other stakeholders to address the challenges of floods, erosion, and watershed management in Edo State.

Community Engagement

At EDOFEWMA, we believe in the power of community engagement. We work closely with local communities to raise awareness, build resilience, and foster partnerships for sustainable development. Through community meetings, workshops, and outreach programs, we empower communities to actively participate in flood and erosion mitigation efforts.

NGO Partnerships

We collaborate with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to leverage resources, expertise, and networks in addressing the complex issues of floods, erosion, and watershed management. Together with our NGO partners, we implement projects, conduct research, and advocate for policies that promote environmental sustainability and resilience.

Government Agencies

We work in partnership with various government agencies at the local, state, and federal levels to coordinate efforts and resources for effective flood, erosion, and watershed management. By collaborating with government agencies responsible for water resources, environmental protection, and disaster management, we enhance the impact and reach of our initiatives.

Academic Institutions

We engage with academic institutions to foster research, innovation, and capacity building in flood, erosion, and watershed management. Through partnerships with universities and research institutes, we support scientific studies, knowledge exchange, and training programs to enhance our understanding of environmental challenges and develop evidence-based solutions.

Private Sector Collaboration

We collaborate with the private sector to mobilize resources, technology, and expertise for implementing infrastructure projects and innovative solutions for flood and erosion control. By engaging with private companies, we harness the creativity and resources of the business community to support our mission of environmental conservation and disaster risk reduction.

International Cooperation

We engage in international cooperation and partnerships to access global best practices, funding opportunities, and technical assistance for addressing floods, erosion, and watershed management challenges. Through collaboration with international organizations, donor agencies, and foreign governments, we strengthen our capacity to implement sustainable solutions and build resilience in Edo State.

Together with our partners, EDOFEWMA is committed to creating a safer, more resilient future for the people of Edo State, where communities thrive in harmony with nature and are better prepared to face the challenges of floods, erosion, and watershed degradation.
